Indiana University is a public coeducational university founded in 1820 in Bloomington, Indiana. Indiana University offers more than 520 undergraduate and graduate degree programs and fields nationally-recognized teams in numerous sports. The Bloomington campus of nearly 2,000 acres is regarded as one of the most beautiful in the nation, with abundant trees, flowers, and and Indiana limestone buildings dating back to the late 19th century. Indiana University is also a leader in research, with grants and awards exceeding $525 million for fiscal year 2007-2008.
